Funerary stele with a farewell scene relief shows a seated, bearded, middle-aged man holding out his hand to a younger figure standing opposite with a parchment. In the classical world a handshake with the right hand marked a farewell. The parchment may show that the deceased was a man of letters. The stele copies Greek models but was made in Cyprus.
