The Bust of Dionysus, Priapus, Plato or Poseidon is a copy of a Roman bronze after a Hellenistic original of the 1st century BC, discovered in the Villa of the Papyri at Herculaneum and now in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Naples. Considered one of the loveliest bronze busts from Herculaneum, its identity is still debated: it does not resemble the accepted portraits of Plato, and its style suggests a much earlier date. Furtwangler and Lenormant both believed it to be a fifth-century original. The head, found south of the tablinum, seems once to have belonged to a statue.
