Theatrical Mask 5 belongs to a set of ancient scenic masks for the three great genres of the Greek stage: tragedy, comedy and satyr drama. Dionysus, called Bacchus by the Romans, was the god of theatre and was often worshipped as a simple bearded mask hung on a draped pillar. As the masked god he was also one of the rare divinities granted immortality. An expressive wall piece for actors, directors and theatre lovers.
