Beschrijving
This Hercules was built up from many pieces and largely restored in plaster; the plaster legs have since been removed, leaving a fragmentary bust. Traces of an inscription remain on the plinth. Hercules has swollen ears like an athlete and was grouped with an animal whose tail shows between his feet, perhaps Cerberus rather than the Cerynitian hind or Nemean lion. The figure follows the tradition of Lysippus.
