This Saint Pierre Abbey portal marks the high point of Romanesque art in Languedoc. The reliefs on the side walls tell of the Apocalypse, faithful to the scriptures, with Christ surrounded by the symbols of the Evangelists. The rose-decorated lintel rests on a trumeau with lions, and the jambs show the prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah on one side and Peter and Paul on the other.
