This Head from a Statue with Magical Texts belonged to a statue whose body, apart from the face, hands and feet, was probably covered with magical texts like those on the Metternich Stela. Such statues stood in temples where people came to be healed, and almost all date from the 4th century BC. A fascinating piece of ancient Egyptian belief.
