Beschrijving
Large Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut is a colossal red granite work showing the queen in the traditional nemes headdress and false beard, offering two jars of milk or water. Her name, Maat-ka-re, is inscribed in the cartouche above the buckle of her belt. This kneeling pose with offerings is common for New Kingdom kings and queens. Broad shoulders and powerful muscles emphasise physical strength, while the curves of body and feet lend it naturalism. The statue was excavated at Deir el-Bahri, dates from the 18th Dynasty and is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
Made to order and hand-finished in the Netherlands. Choose from 11 sizes, from a 7 cm miniature to a 48 cm statement piece, in marble white, gold, bronze or any colour you like.
