This Apollo is an early work by Bertel Thorvaldsen, and this plaster is the only version of it. Together with a Venus, it was commissioned by Countess Vorontsova in 1804 and completed in 1805. Apollo is one of the most important and complex Olympian gods of Greek and Roman religion and myth, recognised as god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and disease, the sun and light, and poetry.
Made to order and hand-finished in the Netherlands. Choose from 11 sizes, from a 7 cm miniature to a 48 cm statement piece, in marble white, gold, bronze or any colour you like. Explore more pieces in our Europa collection.
