Beschrijving
Balballa is one of the stone women, ancient figures from Altai and Kazakhstan that have stood in the University Grove in Tomsk since the end of the 19th century, brought there by the professors Vasily Florinsky and Vasily Sapozhnikov. Each sculpture is over a thousand years old. Such statues were erected from the 6th century in the First Turkic Kaganate, an empire stretching from Korea to the Crimea. They depicted people who once lived, such as nobles and rulers honoured by their descendants, and served as tombstones; the name comes from the Turkic word balbal.
Made to order and hand-finished in the Netherlands. Choose from 11 sizes, from a 7 cm miniature to a 48 cm statement piece, in marble white, gold, bronze or any colour you like.
