This head is a cast from a bust supposed to depict Flavia Iulia Augusta (64-90 AD), or Iulia Titi, daughter of the emperor Titus, and married to Titus Flavius Sabinus. Since, according to many scholars, this remarkable artwork marks a development of canons of portraiture in fashion during the Flavian period, probably a portrait created for a private collection dating back to the 1st quarter of the 2nd century.
The original bust is on permanent display at The Galleria degli Uffizi, Florence.
