Beschrijving
The Bust of Ottavio Farnese shows a stylistic kinship with the bronze bust of Alfonso II d’Este and has been attributed to Leone Leoni (1509–90) and Lodovico Lombardi (1507/08–75). The work is incomplete: the head can be regarded as fairly finished by the artist, but the bust and pedestal are only roughed out, and the right shoulder has been broken and repaired. Ottavio Farnese lived from 9 October 1524 to 18 September 1586.
