Beschrijving
This God of Life portrays Shou, the star of the south pole in Chinese astronomy (Alpha Carinae), believed to control the lifespans of mortals. Legend says he was carried in his mother’s womb for ten years and was born already an old man. He is recognisable by his large forehead, and the peach he holds is a sign of long life.
