Herm of Hercules shows the Roman hero and god, famous for his strength and far-ranging adventures, holding a cornucopia, the horn of plenty and a symbol of abundance and nourishment. A herm is a sculpture with a head, and sometimes a torso, above a plain, usually squared lower section. The form originated in ancient Greece and was adopted by the Romans.
