Beschrijving
Muse from Agnano is part of the group known as the Muses from Agnano, discovered in the Roman baths near Naples. The statues were taken from their first location in ancient times, probably the island of Delos near the temple of Apollo. Each muse wears differently arranged fine robes that accentuate her youthful form. Fragmentary as parts of the group are, the figures still do not seem to pose, leaving the viewer the role of a chance onlooker.
