Found in the ancient cemetery of the Kerameikos, Athens. The stele has the form of a naiskos (a small temple in classical order with columns or pillars and pediment) with Corinthian half-columns and an epistyle with a cornice and antefixes. The name of the dead woman is inscribed on the epistyle. Alexandra, wife of Ktetos, is depicted with the characteristic dress and symbols of the goddess Isis. The frequent depiction in reliefs of people accompanied by Isis’ symbols attests to the wide dissemination of the cult of the Egyptian goddess in Greece.
