Beschrijving
This Section from a Screen comes from the screen that separated the clergy’s seats from the choir in Siena Cathedral. It has two carved rectangles: a female head on the left and a lion with its cub on the right, a symbol of Christ’s resurrection, as cubs were believed to be born dead and revived by a parent’s breath. Vine leaves flank the central strip.
Made to order in the Netherlands and carefully finished by hand. Pick one of 11 sizes (7–48 cm) and the colour that suits your interior, from marble white to gold or bronze. Explore more pieces in our Europa collection.
