Antonio Canova created the Venus Italica to replace the famous Medici Venus after Napoleon took it to the Louvre in 1802. The result became one of his most admired works: a goddess surprised at her bath, modest and sensual at once, rendered with Canova’s trademark softness. A neoclassical icon that brings elegance to a living room, bedroom or hallway.
