Beschrijving
St Peter is a carved oak sculpture of the seated saint in full papal regalia, including an elaborate tiara. The figure originally held two keys; one is now broken and the other restored. In the Gospel of St Matthew, Jesus says to Peter that he will give him the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and in medieval and Renaissance art St Peter is often shown holding two keys.
