Beschrijving
This Standing Virgin with Child comes from France, perhaps Normandy, and dates from the 14th century. It is carved in sandstone with traces of polychromy and is kept in the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire (Cinquantenaire) in Brussels. A mark on the lining of the coat, under the right hand, shows a cross with a chevron. A tender Gothic Madonna.
