Beschrijving
Stele 11 of Monte Alban is a unique piece, worked as a column carved in high relief. At the top are the ‘jaws of the sky’, and a richly dressed figure in jaguar attire stands on a place name. On the left, a badly damaged glyph seems to show the jaws of an animal. The scrolls on each side of the inner frame are typical of Zapotec writing.
