The Torlonia relief shows the Roman harbour of Portus, where Pietro Ercole Visconti found it in 1863. Today it is part of the private Torlonia collection in Rome. Scholars date it to the late 2nd or early 3rd century, as the woman at the altar in the left ship wears the hairstyle of Julia Domna, wife of Emperor Septimius Severus. Only two unpublished theses have been written about it, yet it is key evidence in debates on the Forum Vinarium.
