The White Greyhound of Richmond is one of the Queen’s Beasts, heraldic statues by the sculptor James Woodford for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953. The set of ten was offered to Canada, which accepted it in 1959; the beasts now stand in the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec. In 1956 Woodford made a replica set in Portland stone for Kew, where visitors meet them on the way to the Palm House.
