The White Horse of Hanover is one of the Queen’s Beasts, ten heraldic statues by James Woodford made for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953. Canada accepted the original set in 1959, and it now stands in the Canadian Museum of History in Quebec. Woodford made a second set in Portland stone in 1956, donated to Kew, where the beasts welcome visitors at the main entrance of the Palm House.
