Beschrijving
Votive relief in Pentelic marble, found at Eleusis in Attica, shows Herakles lying drunk beneath a tree on a rock covered with his lion’s pelt. He holds a skyphos and snaps the fingers of his raised right hand, setting the rhythm for a young Satyr playing the double flute. His club and a ribboned thyrsos lean against the tree and his quiver hangs from a branch. It was probably dedicated in the sanctuary of Herakles at Eleusis.
