This handsome portrayal of a man originates from a sculpture sculpture of around 200 AD. The work is documented to have been in the collection of the Pergammon Museum and Staatliche Museum (Votes 1988, 59 No. D 38 ill.) but the original has since disappeared.
Only a few versions of this copy remain to the present day.
