This Seated Virgin Mary, also known as the Mater Dolorosa or Seated Virgin of Sorrows, is a full figure by Germain Pilon, completed in 1586. The original is admired for its intricate, flowing drapery. A serene and moving piece of French Renaissance sculpture.
