Frieze Slab from the Ionic Temple on the Ilissos in Athens [3] is one of three marble fragments of a frieze from Athens, made between 425 and 400 BC and acquired in Venice in 1872. The fragments show standing and seated men resting on travelling sacks. Other parts of the same frieze are in Vienna and Athens. The scenes are interpreted as illustrations of the Pelasgian legend, alluding to Greek prehistoric times.
