Bathing girls is an original work by the Danish sculptor Jens Adolf Jerichau, showing two nude women holding on to each other, a motif echoing the Bathing Venus type that was typical of male sculptors in the 19th century. Jerichau belonged to the generation right after Bertel Thorvaldsen but gradually moved away from the static Neoclassicism he inherited, towards a more dynamic and realistic style.
