Beschrijving
Bust of Dame Louisa Brandreth Aldrich-Blake comes from a double-sided monument above a curved seat, with two identical bronze busts of Dame Aldrich-Blake, each holding a book. The sides show the Rod of Asclepius, the snake-entwined staff long used as a symbol of medicine. The base and seat were designed by Edwin Lutyens, the architect of the Cenotaph, and the busts were made by Arthur George Walker. The monument was erected in 1926 in Tavistock Square, home of the British Medical Association.
