Hadrian was Roman emperor from 117 to 138, and this portrait of him is displayed at the Antike am Königsplatz in Munich. He is known for building Hadrian’s Wall, which marked the northern limit of Britannia. The Munich museum shows Bavaria’s collections of antiquities from Greece, Etruria and Rome, while its sculpture collection is housed in the Glyptothek opposite.
