Madonna col Bambino represents the Madonna with Child and was acquired by the Castello Sforzesco Museum in 1999. The religious attributes and pose of the female figure recall ancient Roman sculpture, and the artist clearly studied classical models and the teachings of Michelangelo Buonarroti. This shows in the complex classical drapery and the monumental presentation of the figures. The mastery of the marble culminates in the rendering of the skin and the almost transparent veil. At the centre of the base is the head of a screaming Medusa, recalling the chasing of contemporary Lombard goldsmiths.
