The Pergamon Athena is a copy of a statue found in pieces by German archaeologists in 1880 in the remains of the Library of Pergamon. Carved in Pentelic marble, it stands 310.5 cm tall. Much was lost, including most of the head except the face, the arms and the feet. The base, probably twice as long originally, likely showed the creation of Pandora, like the original; only seven battered figures survive. The shoulders, neck and missing parts of the head and helmet were recreated in a restrained restoration.
