This Squatting monkey follows an Egyptian limestone figure in the Hunt Museum, Limerick (MG 007; 15 × 13 cm). Carved from a single block, the monkey sits on a rectangular plinth with knees drawn up and elbows resting on them, while its fingers wrap around its elongated snout. The mouth is incised horizontally, the eyes are almond-shaped and the long hair falls straight to the nape of the neck.
Each piece is made to order and finished by hand in the Netherlands. Available in 11 sizes from 7 to 48 cm, in classic marble white, gold, bronze or a colour of your choice. Explore more pieces in our Afrika collection.
