Statue of Andrea Memmo honours the creator of Prato della Valle in Padua, where the statue stands. Andrea Memmo (1729–1793) was a writer, politician and diplomat in the service of the Republic of Venice, from one of the most ancient noble families of the city. Prato della Valle is an elliptical square of 90,000 square metres, the largest in Italy. At its centre lies the green Isola Memmia, surrounded by a small canal bordered by two rings of statues. Before 1635 the area was a largely swampy expanse just south of Padua’s old city walls.
Each piece is made to order and finished by hand in the Netherlands. Available in 11 sizes from 7 to 48 cm, in classic marble white, gold, bronze or a colour of your choice.
