Statuette of the goddess Demeter made of Pentelic marble and found in the Ancient Agora in Athens. The goddess is depicted sitting on the cista mystica (chest containing sacred objects), swathed in her himation. In her left hand, she holds ears of corn and a poppy. Roman copy of an original dating from the first half of the 4th c. BC.
