Bust of Hadrian portrays the Roman emperor who reigned from 117 to 138, here wearing a cuirass. Born Publius Aelius Hadrianus, probably at Italica in modern Spain, he was a relative of Emperor Trajan and married Trajan’s grand-niece Vibia Sabina. As emperor he abandoned Trajan’s expansionist policy and invested in stable, defensible borders, most famously Hadrian’s Wall in Britain. He visited almost every province of the empire.
Each piece is made to order and finished by hand in the Netherlands. Available in 11 sizes from 7 to 48 cm, in classic marble white, gold, bronze or a colour of your choice.
